Andrew interviewed by ACA as expert for “Balcony Horror” story

Andrew Mackie-Smith appeared on A Current Affair this year as a building expert condemning an unsafe balcony in a tenanted property.

According to Andrew, the principal building consultant for BuildingPro, he was “stunned”  to see a balcony in such an unsafe condition that was still being used. He recommended that it be demolished and rebuilt in the interest of safety. In this story, the landlord and the property manager, as an agent for the landlord, had clearly failed in their duty to ensure a safe dwelling for the tenant. This story demonstrates the importance of regular unbiased and thorough building inspections by expert building consultants to ensure property is maintained in a safe condition.
